Member's Play Days

Play days are usually held on the second Saturday of the month when TLSS members get together to run their locomotives or traction engines.  These days start at 10:00am and finish at around 4:00pm or when everyone has had enough fun.

Member's days are open to visitors, family and friends and their locomotives.  All visitors must sign in immediately upon arrival at the railway.  For steam engines a current AMBSC boiler certificate must be shown to and recorded by a club member prior to lighting up.  Water, char and air will be provided for visiting steam engines.  Please note that these days are BYO food.  Tea and coffee will be available.  If you wish to visit us it would be a good idea to contact the club before the day.  This is just in case no members attend the day due to bad weather or other club activities.  See "contact us".

General Meetings

General club meetings are conducted on the first Friday evening of the month.  Meetings start at 8:00pm and are held in the clubrooms at the railway.  Members bring along their projects for "Models on the Table".  The club's extensive library is available for members to browse.   Supper is provided.

Working Bees

Working bees are generally held on the fourth Saturday of the month.  There are always many and varied tasks to suit everyone on these days.

Wednesday Retirees Work Day

Every Wednesday retired members attend the railway to work.  There are many jobs to suit all people - cleaning, painting, track work, gardening, mowing, loco maintenance, carriage maintenance and weed spraying to name just a few.  All welcome to join the fun.  Members BYO lunch and eat together at 12:00pm.

Public Running Days

Club members run the Bulla Hill Railway for the public on the third Sunday of the month.  The railway opens to the public at 12:00pm and closes at 4:00pm.  It requires at least 15 members each run day.

Social Activities

TLSS has a Christmas party for members, family and friends.

Members often attend other clubs invitation days and enjoy the hospitality provided and the opportunity to run their locomotives on another track.  Generally a group of members attend the annual AALS convention at Easter each year.

Occasionally there are other social events like visits to full sized railways.
